Rodgers Metal Craft, Inc.
How does a company become one of the premier structural fabricators in the Southeast? They do it through hard work, an eye on new technology, and by continually updating processes and work methodology. A prime example of a company meeting and exceeding these goals is Rodgers Metal Craft Inc., located in Fortson, Georgia.
The company was started in 1969 inside a small two bay service station. In 1972, it moved into its second facility, but by 1999 the space was inadequate due to changes in fabricating processes. Product did not flow through the shop as efficiently as the new technology demanded. Yard and office space became insufficient. This situation led to the decision to build a completely new facility. The new design would allow raw steel to enter the facility at one end and fabricated material, ready for shipment, to exit out of the other end. This has been the existing concept for over 10 years now and has served Rodgers well. However, with the growth of the company, Rodgers is once again expanding. In addition to enlarging the building, the company has recently made significant investments in CNC shop equipment that will allow it to be even more efficient in the future.
From small jobs to ones that can range up to and over 2,000 tons, all facets of the projects are handled “in house.” These projects consist of the major structural components of the job, but also include the miscellaneous work such as stairs, handrails, frames, etc.
Rodgers prides itself on being a family owned business serving the general construction needs of schools, warehouses, offices, manufacturing facilities and churches, among others. As important as these projects are, the company also derives utmost satisfaction on the ability to provide quality jobs for its employees. Through this, the employees gain a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work.
